LG U880

By Renai LeMay on 16 May 2006

Entry-level 3G phone that does all the multimedia basics, but doesn't always do them well. The size and shape of the U880 will go down well, however, and you can get the phone cheaply on a monthly plan.

    • Good: This phone is great in pretty much every way.
    • Bad: Speakers.

    Great Phone

This phone is great, and I found no problems with it at all. For all of you people who say it constantly freezes or takes a long time, or turns off for no reason.. You probably have a lemon, because my U880 has no problems at all, and it's very reliable.
The only thing that I'm a little dissapointed in this phone is the speakers. In all past LG phones, the speakers have been better quality, but the speakers on the U880 are still good quality, just not as good...

    • Good: Clamshell, durableish
    • Bad: only 100 appointments in calender regardless of memory so no outlook sync, unreliable, swithches itself off for no reason, buttons have cr@p layout, data transfer usb so slow unusable, have to pause a loooong time before next character entry on SMS, camera cr@p images.

    Not a good phone

Worst phone I have ever had.

    • Bad: The phone constantly freezes. It turns itself off with no discernible reason. The battery life is pathetic. The menu systems aren't a patch on Sony Erricsons'. SMS messaging is harder than it should be - just try inserting a wordspace. Camera shots have pronounced halo effect and way too much noise. Garbage. Can't wait to get rid of it.

    Absolute rubbish

    • Good: everything,great!
    • Bad: no flash

great phone smart, smooth and easy to use, with all essential gadgets in this century.

nice features and good mobile phone upgrade, nice eye candy in pink

    • Good: smaller lighter, internal antenna, lots of memory, expandable.

can listen to music when closed, but a bit quiet.
not much of an upgrade over previous models.
    • Bad: weaker around hinge area - mine broke after 1 drop, menu could have been better, old lg phones were better. no more camera flash - which doubled as a torch on my old phone, battery life gets down to about 2 days fairly quickly

weaker then previous models but still better

evolutionary, not revolutionary, if you have an older lg phone ( 8110 -onwards, ) dont bother with this as an upgrade, wait for something better

    • Good: Considerably small for a 3G phone
    • Bad: Battery life is terribly short, very fragile, all plastic, looks cheap. SMS messaging is difficult. Very disappointed.

    More appearance than substance
