Linksys WAG160N Wireless-N ADSL2+ Gateway
By Alex Kidman on 29 July 2008
Linksys' WAG160N resides in an attractive package, and manages better than most Wireless N routers. Better than most, but still nowhere near the hype.

- Good: None
- Bad: Wireless connectivity issues with Nokia phones
Even with the latest Firmware 1.00.15 the Connectivity to Nokia Mobiles happens at times and if it happens it works otherwise no. Most of the time phones say wiresless network not detected.
Please don't buy this product. I threw it and bought basic Dlink DSL 2640 & it is fine with my laptop and Nokia phones. -

- Good: Looks good
- Bad: DHCP for wireless devices has problems. Hit and miss ADSL connection. Device gets VERY HOT..
DHCP for wireless devices stops working intermittently. When you reboot the modem, it sometimes needs 5 minutes off before turning back on or it won’t be able to establish an ADSL connection. Device gets VERY HOT. Would not recommend this product.

- Good: Good router, fast wireless when working
- Bad: Wireless just cuts out after every 12 hours
Wireless cuts out every 12 hours and is only restored by disconnecting and reconnecting power supply. The thing get so hot, you nearly burn your fingers. I'm taking it back today.

- Good: nothing
- Bad: wireless does not work; bad reception compared to others
Wireless drives you nuts. I spent long long hours, testing different firmware without any luck.
Reception is weak after minor wals; probably due to internal antennas.
DO NOT BUY THIS EQUIPMENT. DO NOT BUT LINKSYS. -

- Good: Design, Size
- Bad: Doesnt work
I'm based in UK. I've contacted Linksys via live-chat and they suggested I go to RMA form on their website to get a replacement.

- Good: (As long as firmware is kept up to date!!!) Good speeds on a wide range of isps, all in one package, decent looking relitivly easy set up.
- Bad: None that have not been mentioned in the Cnet reveiw.
This is a great all in one package that gets the job done with minimal fuss. I did have wireless issues in the past however after upgrading firmware all issues have been solved and not a single drop out has occurred.

- Good: Manages to Successfully Stop Paper from Floating Away
- Bad: Device flips out and stuffs up media sharing & dhcp after a few hours
Same problems as everyone else... done reloads of systems & phones... done new firmwares & factory default settings... contacted linksys... they play dumb... this device is soo defective that I've lost all confidence in linksys and believe that the only way for them to redeem themselfs is for a complete recall of the entire wag160n range, with no cutoff point. Linksys spent years to build a good reputation and now they're letting a single product cut them down. Class action lawsuit against linksys would be to their benefit... it'd force them to patch up their rep.
