Logitech X-530

By Nathaniel Wilkins, CNET.com on 25 November 2004

Although it lacks the power and the clarity of some speakers, the X-530 set provides a cheap way to add respectable 5.1-channel surround sound to your computer.

we bought these speakers a few months ago and they seemed ok, but now they have started to make really bad distorting sounds and you can't hear anything but the noise.

    • Good: Nice sound quallity.
      Good value for money.
      Powerful sub.
    • Bad: Cant turn sub noise off completely.

Anyone who is looking for a mid-range 5.1 speaker system, i reccomend it. Its only those people that are really fussy that complain lol.

    • Good: *Good sound
      *Very Cheap
      *Not Heavy
    • Bad: *Bass Could do better!
      *Much Longer wires

These Speakers are great for everyday use on a computer However the Sub seem to have created a rattling sound in deep bass in muisc,Film,Games...Etc Does Anybody know how to Solve this problem?

    • Good: Very Cheap
      Satellites are very loud
      A/V Adaper Included
Good sound quality for it's price
    • Bad: Rear speaker cables a bit too short
      Subwoofer is weak
      Subwoofer rattles
      No remote or control centre

I've had them for three weeks and they're a nice system, I use it for my iPod with the games console adapter. The only thing I don't like is the subwoofer. Could anyone reccoment a compatible sub-$100 Subwoofer that goes well with it (30-40 watts range)?
My X-530 Sub makes a rattling noise whenever there is a particularly deep bass note. Is this a problem with my set in particular or is the system made like that?

If you know the answer to either of my questions, could you please email me on dazza359@hotmail.com.

    • Good: Simple setup. No digital box to stuff around with, easy and clear to read manual (not that I needed it)
    • Bad: you may find that the rear satellite speaker cables are not long enough, however the cables are standard, and an extension is quite cheap to obtain.

No digital inputs, however I didn't need them and was glad I didnt have to pay for them.

No remote (but i didn't want one anyway)

Great set of speakers at a bargain price

I paid $98, and they immensely better than the standard two that came on the big screen sony tv.

If you are looking for a professional setup, these are not for you, however for simplicity of setup and cheap price, these are excellent value.

    Great Value

Great sounding system. It performs well with games and is great for dvd movies. If enriches the quality of the sound.
