Mac freezes blamed on graphics woes
By Darius Chang on 09 October 2007
In brief Apple's recently updated iMacs seem to be having issues with their graphic interface.
According to a report from AppleInsider, more than a few owners of the new shiny iMacs are experiencing unexpected interface freezes.
The system looks and behaves like it's running normally, but is totally unresponsive to any touching of the controls. Some suspect foul play by the new ATI Radeon HD graphics card, as most instances occur when playing games or running any video-intensive tasks.
So far Apple is aware of the problem but has yet to release a permanent fix for it. Users have tried to re-install older Mac drivers with mixed results. For now, the best advice for users is to reset the system when this occurs.

They both have issues it's just that Macs are way overpriced for the same or lessor quality hardware. I have had and heard admitted Mac devotees complain of more issues than I have had with a 1998 Emachines that cost $300 as oppose to a Mac Pro that cost over $3,400 w/ 23" Apple monitor that has developed water marks under the screen. Yesterday it took me 3 hours to get a warranty claim on my iphone adapter cord that melted at the phone within 8 seconds of plugging it in to recharge. I can't wait to tackle the monitor issue! I know others who have complained spending an entire day or more with Apple tech support over minutia!

Macs are not better than pcs, they are simply an alternative. Windows and OSX both have their weaknesses. Essentially, people who want an off the shelf computer that provides little hassle, Macs have become a target of consumers. Not overly surprising, as pre-built pcs tend to be poorly put together even more than previous years. Keep in mind however that OSX is seen as better because Tiger has been out for 2 years and has received many patches. There is no doubt that Leopard in its current state is buggy.

Macs are way better than PC, they aren't crap. They crash less than most PCs do too. I bet you never even owned a MAC.
