Pasquale Manfredi, who reportedly called himself "Scarface", was arrested earlier this week after police tracked him down through his Facebook account.

The hitman had been on the run for a year, with police wanting to question him regarding the murder of rival mobster Carmine Arena, who — no joke — was killed with a bazooka in 2004, and Pasquale Tripaldi a year later.

Police tracked Manfredi down to his hideout in Isola Capo Rizzuto in Calabria, southern Italy, via his network of Facebook contacts, according to a report by ABCNews.com. They believe that Manfredi was using the site to keep in touch with the 'Ndrangheta organisation, a powerful branch of Italian organised crime.

As well as the two murders, Manfredi stands accused of mafia association, illegal trade of military weapons, drugs trafficking and possession of illegal armaments.
