On 1 April 2011, nerd supplies store Think Geek posted a set of De-3D Cinema Glasses, along with Angry Birds Pork Rinds and other goodies, but surprise surprise they were fake.
However, we think they were onto something. Nintendo may have only just released its 3DS but it's already telling games developers it wants games to work in 2D as well, because some people just can't see the effect!
If that's you, or you simply want to watch a movie in 2D without closing one eye for two hours, we have a solution.
Here we show you how to make your own 2D glasses with things you probably have around the house!
Materials:
1x permanent marker or bottle of black poster paint
1x pair of RealD 3D glasses
1x face
Step 1: colour in one eye of the glasses making sure to leave no "light gaps"
Step 2: apply glasses to face
Step 3: see in 2D
The genius of these glasses is that they work on both 3D and 2D movies. Two sets of dimensions for the price of one!
By the way, go see Paul. You'll know why.
