I can't imagine how bad streaming over a 2G connection would be. Even 3G streaming leaves a lot to be desired in this country. And on a 9cm screen?

3G networks drain the battery faster than 2G - if your carrier has both and doesn't have ludicrous roaming charges, consider dropping back a notch to standard GSM to squeeze some extra life out of your battery.

Mobile phones are a nightmare for shutter lag - most of the time it's back in my pocket by the time the shutter goes off. My recommendation is to buy an entry-level dSLR if you're looking to take really quick snaps.

Or it could be the VHS of wireless internet. Intel's already invested $37 million in WiMAX in Australia through Unwired.

This is cool for Aussie mobile users - as far as I know there isn't a local 3G operator that has YouTube on its content portal page. Beware the data plan you're on though!
