Mio DigiWalker A702

It works well as a GPS navigator but, as a phone, the slow responses and awful text messaging really let the A702 down.

I have been using this phone for a year now. Well, some people say its not fast, but I had other PDAs and they are not that much faster either unless you buy the newest HTCs or Samsungs or iPhone.
Yet, it's a very reliable phone. Its GPS is said to be the most precise in PDAs and I can testify.
It comes with car mount and car charger, which is very rare with other PDAs. Everything you need is in the package! Im sick of all the other companies where you have to buy everything separately. Mio gives everything.
This phone is not for those kids who want to play videogames or watch films on it. Its for office purposes: Windows Office, Email, GPS navigation.
It's a tool not a toy.- Good: Excellent GPS, Wifi, small neat size
- Bad: battery

Don’t even think about purchasing this phone.
Underpowered, buggy, and poorly designed. Expect large amounts of lag when trying to navigate thru menus. Mine died after a year, it wouldn’t even power up with the cord plugged in. Even a hard reset wouldn’t fix it.
Battery life is absolute crap. Didn’t even last 12 hours on standby.
My biggest regret was buying this phone.
Mio’s website and support are as buggy and badly designed as their product.- Good: It attempted to run Windows Mobile 6
- Bad: Battery life, or lack of it, slow response on menus, call quality, handsfree speaker. Screen is nigh on impossible to read without full back light on, killing your battery life.....

Don't really agree with the CNET review. I much prefer to text using the stylus so the keypad texting issues do not concern me. Have installed Spd mobile shell which improves its usability by 100%. The GPS is fantastic I now have one device for phone, texting, music, GPS.
- Good: WIFI
GPS
Spd shell purchased seperately improves user interface. - Bad: Lag
battery Life
- Good: WIFI

Brought this phone in February. Wasn't as easy as I thought to use, though I am used to it now. Clip broke for the stylus pen, so now I am always paranoid that I'm going to lose it. It stuffs up at the wrong times, and works when it wants to work. Great phone though.
- Good: Fit's 1000's of text.
Camera good.
GPS great.
Has everything I need.
Etc. - Bad: Delay for calls.
Keys suck for text.
Batter doesn't last long.
Stylus pen and clip broke.
Stuffs up alot when searching for contacts seeing it's duplicated them a dozen times.. EACH.
- Good: Fit's 1000's of text.

Got the phone in September when it first came out.. it's not too bad but there could be a lot of improvements. Battery only lasts 24hrs so got a second and seperate charger number pad is useless for txting but handy for finding phone numbers quickly. headphone jack is 2.5mm not 3.5 so it's hard to get headphones. My speaker has just given up so have no sound and has to go back for repair.
- Good: Good as GPS with TOMTOM. Easy To get new software. Recommend Threaded SMS for trio and Touchpad for txting.. SD Card expansion.
- Bad: Speaker Broke. Paint scratches easily. 2.5 mm head phone jack. Battery lasts 24hrs. usless keypad for txting. No Upgrade to WM6.1!!!

Love the phone, concerned about support network - logged support inquiry over a week ago and got no response (state that they will get back to you in one working day).
Enough of my gripes though. It's a great Swiss army knife of a device, runs a bit slow but fast enough. Having fun with the GPS - seems to work well (strangely enough, that runs very fast). Camera with GPS tagging is neat.
Was going to buy a second one but now looking at other devices after concerns with support. Current one is for my wife, and I'm her support ;).- Good: Form factor - perfect considering what is crammed in.
It's a bit fussy about microSDHC support (Kingston 4GB doesn't work) - others do though.
Comes with all the accessories I need.
Easy recharging straight from USB port. - Bad: A bit slow but usable.
Doesn't run PALMOS - ok I'm one of the few that's a con for
- Good: Form factor - perfect considering what is crammed in.

The only thing conerned me was the slow response, but for this price, i think i'll get use to it soon :-)
- Good: The price, and it has everything I need.
- Bad: Have to recharge everyday.

It's a great phone, but does anyone know how to enter MMS and WAP settings?
- Good: Stylish, compact and great GPS.
- Bad: Difficult to enter MMS and WAP settings.
