I have had this phone for less then a year and have already had to go and get it fixed as teh track ball stopped working but my latest problem has something to do with the outside enter key.. When my phone is on the security combination screen and I'm not touching my phone, it has started to enter it's own codes of 000 all the time..
Also, when my phone is left at the home screen at phone it will call the last person who I either called/recieved a call from. And, it does this all by itself without me even touching it. Sure, it's humourous to watch your phone call people by itself but it is beginning to cost a fair amount of money... If anybody has had the same problem would you mind posting how you got it fixed/what the problem was as it is a hassle to go get it fixed as last time it took well over a month for them to fix my trackball...
Pros: Unlimited text, msn, etc
Cons: Dodgy in the sense that my phone is constantly breaking..
I'm getting this phone in a few weeks. It's everything I need, I'm always on MSN and MySpace catching up with my friends and because it's free thats perfect for me. And to every who is complaining about the battery life, how do you expect it to work for days when your always online or on MSN? I cant wait to get mine.
Pros: Free MSN, SMS, MMS and web.
QWERTY keyboard.
Looks very stylish - Makes you look rich.
Can veiw phone files online.
MySpace 27/7.
Memory card slot.
You can download FREE themes for it.
Cons: Can't set MP3s as ringtones.
No bluetooth.
People will want to steal it.
Can't view some email attactments.
Can't set picture as background.
No alarm.
Calls are VERY pricey.
i reaally would like this phone & i might be getting it for christmas, but it cost alot of money & also i've read ALL of the comments abou this phone & poeple have said is crap + im abit worried about the turning on & off, but i think its how fast your sliding it up & down. Also the battery life, i also think its how much you use the phone.
I have fully stalked all the Hiptop Slide websites bekuz i love them soo much.
im scared that if i pa this much amount of money for 24 months that im wasting my parents money & that a new hiptop may come out or that a new different type of fone might come out & that i'll lose interest in the hiptop & that all that money was for nothingg ?
if i buy this phone strate out without a plan can i go on the "deal" thingo of the free sms and msn and shiz... also ive herd by people on here that it doesnt have blue tooth and you cant put music on here. but it says you charge it through the computer and can put your mp3's on it through that and that it makes use of blue took 2.0 or something... can some1 please explain it to me and send me and email jakesworld1@hotmail.com thanks
i think that motorolla should re-make the hiptop. Giving it some better features like bluetooth, ring tones already on the phone, better applications, possibly a better camera AND they definately need to check out all the problems with it. I havent got one yet, but i have heard from about fifteen people tht all they are call for is the cheap plan, The internet sucks, it has no bluetooth, and it stuffs up alot. Why bring it out in 2008 if its not guna be high tech, or good? I think that motorola produces quite alot of dodgy phone, i have had a few and have had problems with all of them, If the hiptop was owned by nokia, i would definately be getting it, i would be able to trust it with nokia.
Pros: - Internet
- Unlimited every thing (except calls)
- The look
- The fact that everyone has one and theyre cool.
Cons: slow internet
freezes and blacks out
deletes contacts and messages if it wants
freezes the net
calls cost a heap
small keypad but it is controllable.
THATS ABOUT IT. motorola, please re-make the hiptop, i think waaay more people would buy it. AND P.S for the large price it costs, i think the people of this earth deserve it to be better.
I have had my hiptop slide (scarlett) for about 3 months now and i love it. i must say that i have had a few problems with it with the internet slowing and freezing from time to time, and also there were a few times when it would stop recieving sms's..but a similar thing used to happen with my old phone so it doesnt worry me too much. these phones are brilliant if, like me, you text HEAPS!! my first bill was 40 pages of sms's and about 30 pages of internet usage. so as you can see, if i was to be paying for all of this, i would be somewhat out of pocket..lols. i must say that the call rates are utterly insane, however it is possible to change the number of which you have the free 3 minutes to, (keeping in mind it muct be to telstra) but i have found myself just making the call and ensuring that i limit it ad thus keep my costs down. i love the screen on this model, its clear and looks great. i also like the keypad, sure it took me a little while and as i a girl who prides herself in her nails, i found it a bit hard to cope with having long claws on my thumbs and still effectivly using the keypad, so i have taken to living with short thumb nails lols...a small price to pay for awsomeness. i was utterly dissapointed when i found that you cant have an mp3 as a ringtone, however i did find out that you can use the recording feature to make your own!!! how cool, i love this feature and i play with it and make new ones all the time. so basically i think this deal is great, i pay $65 a month for peace of mind that im not going to get lumped with a $650 bill like my friend has just been presented with from texting lots with an iPhone...needless to say i always have, do, and always will love my hiptop slide =]
Pros: - free sms's
-free mms's
-free unlimited internet
-msn
the general look of the phone
Cons: -keypad for thoes of us with nails..he he
-can be slow sometimes but nothing a 'soft reset' wont fix (@+1+0) =]
-all data is backed up on the simcard, so if your handset breaks at all, you can buy a new handset and simply waack in your sim and off you go, good as new =]
