Camera phone battery life expectancy

Question

Do camera phones inherently use more battery power than regular phones? The phone I like has a camera, but I certainly don't need one (a camera, that is) if it's going to compromise battery life.

Not necessarily. Just because a mobile phone has an integrated camera, that doesn't mean it automatically zaps more power.

Use of a colour screen, however, will affect battery life. So if you use your camera (and screen) a lot, you will see a difference. But if use your camera sparingly, you shouldn't notice much of a change. Keep in mind, though, that this will vary among phone models.
