update We often measure a phone by the length of its features list; we want Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, touchscreens and HSDPA. But there are some phones we want just to see the look on people's faces when we slide it out of our pockets to take a call. We want envy-inducing fashion phones.
So what constitutes a fashion phone? Having a designer label attached goes a long way, a la LG's Prada phone and Samsung's Giorgio Armani handset. Without a famous name, handsets rely on their aesthetic to seduce us. Nokia's 8800 Arte impressed with its simple elegance and sleek design, while the David Beckham endorsed, gold-dipped Motorola RAZR V8 Luxury Edition caught our eye with sheer gaudiness, both the handset and the bundled snake-skin phone pouch.
LG Prada KE850
This collaboration between Prada and LG is a luxury triband touchscreen phone that comes with a leather pouch and branded wipecloth.
Sony Ericsson W890i
The sleeker user interface, improved keypad and HSDPA make the W890i more attractive than its predecessor, the W880i.
Motorola RAZR2 V8 Luxury Edition
Motorola's V8 has been dipped in gold, covered in snakeskin and endorsed by David Beckham. The quadband clamshell has 2GB of non-expandable memory and a 2-megapixel camera, and comes with a pouch, Bluetooth headset and swanky suede wipecloth.
Nokia 8800 Arte
If you're a person who'd gladly pay the extra for a Ferrari over a Ford, then the 8800 Arte may be exactly the phone you've been waiting for.
Bang & Olufsen and Samsung Serenata
The Bang & Olufsen and Samsung Serenata is a premium music player first and a phone second — look out iPhone, there's a new kid in town.
Samsung Giorgio Armani
The Armani's sleek and strudy appearance belies its lightweight feature set, the most notably of which is no 3G.
LG Shine KU970
The Shine looks gorgeous if you can manage to keep it clean, and will likely cause envy among those you show it off to. Just watch out for the pesky scroller.
