Sony Ericsson W810i User reviews  Editors' choice

By Jeremy Roche on 25/05/2006

More Sony Ericsson reviews , RRP: AU$899.00

The good:

  • Cute and compact form factor
  • 2-megapixel camera
  • Great sounding audio
  • Bundled with a 512MB memory card
  • Easy-to-use interface

The bad:

  • Grainy low-light photos
  • Software suite doesn't support Mac
  • Keypad will be too small for some

The bottomline:

An excellent phone with plenty of storage space for photos. The camera is above average for a mobile phone, as are the supplied headphones. While there is no need for W800i users to upgrade to this model, the W810i offers an impressive feature set for those considering the purchase.

great phone, i love the walkman, 4 gig card i added and pretty much everything on this phone.
If i lost it, i would buy another one.

Pros: walkman, night mode camera, sync with pc

Cons: it keeps sending messages automatically, not sure why it does this, where it sends them to.
It just says message sent most times i pick it up.

iv had this phone for 3 months & on the first month i got it...let me refrase that...on the first day ii got it it f**ked up ...it freezes when pluged into computer or when u turn it on...camera was s**t also videos where pretty crar & came out in squares...sound was good though...3months later...wont even turn on ...& when it does it takes 20 mins to turn on & stays on for 10 mins ...complete bulls**t.who ever wants this phone better off looking for another phone...its also disgustingly chunky...im going to move onto the nokia 6500 slide

Pros: good speaker...fast blutooth...takes up to 4gb memory card...has infered...good reception

Cons: chunky...lags...videos are boxy...pics are grainy...could do with better camera...freezes...buttons get stuck...cant take of case without screwdriver(specialtype)...just a crap phone...everything

I've had this phone for over 2 years now and it's been nothing but brilliant.

Pros: Photos, though many complain, are of excellent quality for mine, and most others', purposes.
Sound quality is brilliant. I used this as an mp3 player for over a year until I bought an iPod (and in my opinion this phone was better)
Perfect sized buttons

Cons: A little thick but that's just me looking for a con to put here.

It's hard to knock a phone that has all the current popular technologies, but it would have still been great for Nokia to consider new technologies for this latest N-Series range, particularly a media sharing networking protocol.

While we like the E71 better, the E66 is a great smartphone with class leading features. If you want the functionality of a business phone without the bulk of a PDA form factor, the E66 is the phone you've been looking for.
