I've got this phone and while its good I keep having a problem with the camera. When I try to open it i get a 'Another application is running, close it and try again' message. This is when there are no other applications running. Any one else had this problem?
Did anybody have any problem about unstuck colour on a confirmation button between signs of PLAY and STOP? I think, perhaps there is too little space to keep finishing "gold" on plastic button.
Phone accepts the BST-40 battery which should extend talktime and media player on the phone!
Let's hope it doesn't burn out any circuits or anything!
Pros: Good reception
Good media player
Decent battery life
Separate (hard) keys for Call/Off keys
Cons: Pricey
Controls are still too small
Update software and Media Manager software doesn't work many times
Playlists MUST be created beforehand not in phone for Media player to play files properly
Pros: stainless steel prevents scratches
walkman phone
attrative look
3.2 megapixel camera (pretty good for a phone)
very fast interface and response
all the features you even need from a phone
super slim
It's a Walkman phone so it's meant for music. Problem is... the Media player software STINKS! It's better to just drag and drop the songs into the media card.
Also, the phone takes awhile to update the music files. It's bad that it does NOT just create a playlist so making a playlist with the phone is just CRAPPY!
The sound quality is pretty good even for the radio.
Let's get some things cleared up:
1. It's a music phone, hence the Walkman designation!
- The controls and user interface are decent but NOT that user friendly!
- If you want a GOOD media player, then buy a mp3 player/iPod!
2. Forget about the camera since it doesn't have a flash or autozoom. It's meant for occasional shots in the Daytime! Buy a (digital) camera if you want a camera!
3. Extend the battery life by:
a) Switch OFF 3G into GSM only
b) Switch OFF Bluetooth
c) Switch OFF anything else that runs in the background
This will then extend the battery life!
4. SE phones have the Proprietary port for charging and for listening. SE does this because it's their CASH COW!!! It makes people BUY their headphones and chargers!!
- Isn't SE a bunch of Arses for doing this instead of using the industry standard 3.5mm port for headphones and mini ports for charging??
- This is one area that people REALLY HATE about SE phones!!
5. The controls arent' bad but it's not terrific.
- It's decent but the phone will NEVER replace the iPod nano as the phone's controls and user interface is NOT that friendly!! It's a phone, primarily, then a music player!
6. Finally, SE puts dedicated call and stop call keys instead of using soft keys!! Wished they could've used such keys on the P1i!!
7. Coolness factor is another problem with SE phones as SE focuses TOO MUCH on the look of the phone NOT the actual FUNCTIONALY or FEATURES that most phone users actual need or use!
Overall, it's a decent phone with a decent media player. It does look cool albeit it's PRICEY!
Pros: Decent call quality
Good music playback quality
Looks cool
Cons: Pricey
Proprietary port for charging and for headphones
Music media software stinks!
User interface is quirky
Control dials are still bit too small
Texting is terrible
No autofocus or flash so camera only meant for daytime shots
It's been a long time coming but finally Nokia has a sexy touchscreen phone. Although, does it have what it takes to make us look away from the ever-alluring iPhone?
CNET Australia's latest video series is dedicated to everything mobile, including a peek at the sexiest phones of the future and a wrap of all the phone's we've reviewed this month.
CNET.com.au's UK colleagues got their hands on the T-Mobile G1, the first commercially available phone to run Google's Android platform. Check out our photo gallery for a closer look.
Other manufacturers are very close, but Sony Ericsson is the first to show off its 8-megapixel camera phone: the C905. Armed with a range of tech, this latest Cyber-shot is more than a phone with a camera stuck to its back.
Just because Apple charges for iPhone ringtones doesn't mean we should have to pay for them. Follow our step-by-step guide to creating your own ringtones using your favourite MP3 files.
Since its release, the iPhone has had more than its share of press. Love it or hate it, everyone's been talking about it and looking at its sleek, colourful interface, it's hard not to fall in love with it. But like most decisions based on emotion, buying one may not be the smartest thing to do — at least, not yet.
Become the master of your mobile with phone-syncing software. Here's how to backup data such as contacts and messages from your phone onto your computer without paying your carrier.
The Nokia N95 has finally landed in Australia. CNET.com.au's N95 photo gallery explores the form, features and additional goodies in the box of this multifaceted multimedia device.
