Having the flexibility of interchangeable lenses and the shoot-and-share nature of mobile phones is a bit of a holy grail of photography.
Previously, Photojojo released an iPhone SLR mount that accepted Nikon or Canon lenses. Michael Ouzounian, who has also invented various novel ways of modifying the Nokia N8 for astrophotography and macro work, has come up with a DIY adapter that mounts Canon EF lenses on the smartphone. It's just a prototype at the moment, but is fully functional, made up of nine layers of corrugated cardboard, a rear lens cap and some rubber bands.
The video below explains more about how the device works and his website has further details, but it doesn't look all that difficult to replicate at home with a little technical know-how. The sample photos and video taken at the end also look stunning.
