Creative Labs has launched an Australian version of its Web store, although for the moment not all product lines are available for sale online.
From this morning, with the launch of its Web store, Australian customers can purchase Creative products online and direct from the manufacturer. Online Creative stores have been available in Asia, Europe and North America for a few years now.
However, not all Creative products sold in Australia are available for purchase online -- we're still awaiting word from Creative as to why this is so and whether the situation will change in the future.
Items for sale include some members of the Zen family of MP3 players, including the Vision:M and Stone, as well select MP3 player accessories, speakers, headphones and Fatal1ty gaming equipment. Conspicuous by their absence are recent releases like the Zen Stone Plus and Travelsound Zen Stone.
Purchases can only be paid for by Visa. So, if you're Visa-less, you'll have to borrow a friend's or family member's card. All items purchased come with a one-year warranty and sales of over AU$149 will be shipped for free.

Why the hell would they bother? I have been trying since 21 December 2007 to buy a remote volume control device for my I-Trigue 3400. So far, despite 2 phone calls, numerous email messages and a letter with my cheque as instructed, ZIP. Stuff All. Nothing. Zilch. Zero. Think I'm pissed off? You had better believe it!!! So why would I bother buying anything else from this bastian of no service online or otherwise? And because of this wonderful, exhilerating service, I have definately wiped of the CreativeMP3 player from my list. I might use one if they sent me one free, but when it broke I seriously doubt I'd bother getting another.
