Besides the twist-and-fold design, the PX100s feature several other noteworthy characteristics. Metal joints on the padded-steel headband help ensure maximum durability, while Sennheiser's Duofol diaphragms and powerful neodymium magnets are intended to produce low-distortion sound. Even the cable is special; the four-foot oxygen-free copper span is superflexible, despite being reinforced with Kevlar. It's fitted with a standard 1/4-inch stereo minijack plug. The ear pads are replaceable, and Sennheiser provides a two-year warranty.
We used our 15GB iPod for all of our PX100 evaluations. The little 'phones produce a rich sound, with laid-back treble detail. While some listeners will appreciate the lack of harshness, it sounded awfully sweet on acoustic jazz and John Mellencamp's new blues-infused CD, Trouble No More. We would have liked a bit more treble detail with more-aggressive music; the White Stripes' gritty sound was a touch too mellow. On the upside, the PX100 can play loudly without breaking up, a feat beyond the capabilities of most headphones of this size.
Our issues with treble detail notwithstanding, the PX100 is a good choice for travellers seeking a compact headphone design that doesn't sacrifice comfort and overall sound quality.

All you need
I had studied the net for several hours looking for reviews and the px100 was mentioned as a stand out performer in terms of entry level headphone output. I used to have sony headphones but they are nothing compared to this german work of art.
Pros: Great Design. The headphone case is real Handy once you get used to putting them away. Once you've set your custom equaliser settings for your player according to the headphones strengths, you're ready for clear and classic tones. For only $80 - this set roks!
Cons: Have not found any yet besides having to adjust equaliser settings which is normal. By the way if you're listening to crapily converted mp3 tracks there's no point listening with these. Convert to cd quality and get the most out of your mp3's.

Excellent 2nd pair
I bought these as a travel pair of headphones, as I found taking my big hifi ones around was troublesome, and I was concerned about damaging them or losing them. I wanted some portable headphones that had good sound quality - this is where spending a little extra to get Sennheisers as opposed to your mass market Sonys pays off, these PX100's are excellent value, and I can still enjoy my music. I find on the odd occasion I use cheap headphones or cheap ear buds, I can't enjoy the music, because I know there is much more to hear.
Pros: Very hard to find another pair of headphones with such an excellent compromise between sound quality and portability.
Cons: Better quality can be had, but for a far greater price.

Suited only to overly bright sounding MP3 players and EQ tweakers.
Pros: I borrowed a pair of these for a day. They are cheap, fairly comfortable and you can do much worse at the price - especially if you want to tame an overly bright trebble.
Cons: PLEASE NOTE! Buyer beware - the aforementioned lack of trebble detail makes these a poor choice unless your MP3 player sounds too bright in the trebble frequencies. If you don't mind messing around with your MP3 players eq settings, you might be able to find a happy balance, but it will never sound quite right that way. Also, these headphones are not ideal for public transport; they don't leak excessively but they let in a lot of external sounds, meaning you have to whack up the volume, meaning damage to your hearing.
That said, I saw a pair with a third off the price and am going to buy them as a backup if the offer is still on.

excellent sound but messy wires
got these few weeks ago.. At first i was skeptical about the performance from such compact headphones. But as soon i plugged them into my iRiver795 replacing the standard sennheiser earbuds, the music jus came alive!! excellent response.. doesnt crack wen cranked up, however sound tend to bais towards bass side.
The wires can be bit long when you connect to mp3 players and it's a hassle untanggling them. But it folds nicely to take with you on long journeys which is nice.
