iPods: Updated fifth-gen flavour
There's no denying that the Apple iPod is the most popular MP3 player in the world.
It's so popular, in fact, that it has bordered on becoming the generic term for MP3 player -- much to other manufacturers' chagrin, no doubt. While we can't be sure exactly what is responsible for the iPod's success, its user-friendly interface, its superb integration with Apple iTunes, and its killer marketing campaign probably had something to do with it. What is certain is that when an MP3 player enjoys a huge market share, a plethora of products and content spring up just to serve its users. If you're looking for a one-stop spot to access all this, iPod Central is the place.

ipod videos are the biggest rip-off. i bought a 30GB one specifically to download my dvds on to my ipod and it turns out you have to buy a program (costs $50+) so you can get this done. i can't understand why not provide the software when this is one of the main features of the player. the headphones break in about two months (i hardly used my headphones too) and the skins for it are way too expensive for what they actually do. you can't have separate folders for the pictures (they're all together in one big folder) i'm assuming this feature will get better in time and a newest latest generation ipod will come out that can divide your pictures per event (that you can play music in the background while you're watching the slideshow is pretty cool nonetheless) so it's a risk you gotta be willing to take knowing that technology is always changing and evolving. honestly, no, there is no better mp3 than the apple ipod but if you only want it to listen to music i suggest you get a regular mp3 player. it'll be just as good and you won't have to pay over $150 for it
