Altec Lansing inMotion iM7 User reviews

By Alex Kidman on 26/10/2005

More Conexus reviews , RRP: AU$445.00

The good:

  • Looks cool
  • Mains or battery powered
  • Excellent audio quality

The bad:

  • No treble/bass/volume indicators
  • Still defers to the iPod for some functions
  • Carry handle is a bit dodgy

The bottomline:

If you miss the heady 80's days of irresponsible tycoons, big hair and boomboxes, then the iM7 promises a return of sorts. Well, except for the tycoons and the big hair -- you'll have to provide those yourself.

Altec Lansing better than Bose

I tried the iM7 and the bose system in an apple store, the sound difference was marginal. However where the iM7 came out on top was it's ability to take 8 "D" sized batteries. The iM7 lasts approx 6 to 8 hours on decent batteries, however make sure your ipod is charged as it doesn't charge the ipod when using batteries.

did not know anything about this until at airport duty free shop and gave it a quick workout at full volume, it sounded great so i made the purchase and that gave it a full on workout when i meet up my brother for his birthday. It went hard for about 10 straight hour and did not miis a beat.
10/10 performance and quaility
