After a year started having problems with heat. No change to setup. Rang customer support got the standard have you tried upgrading firmware... Rang again 1 month later still no help. 2nd unit that has heating problems would not recommend to anyone..

    • Good: Great when it works nice and compact
    • Bad: Overheats all the time causes dropping of calls and ADSL

Gets very hot, sometimes ADSL drops off when recieve a call, then takes for ever for it to come back on line. quickest way is to either unplug cable from wall or reset

Been using NB9W for about a year, my problem is that it switches to landline without any warning, got bill from telstra for more than $300. Had to reset it four times but it's still the same. Be careful make sure you go through VOIP.

    • Good: looks good
    • Bad: VERY expensive VOIP calls

used it for 3 years and never had any problems, easy to set up and does everything what it claims to do

    • Good: reliable even in tropics no probs with overheating, user friendly
    • Bad: power switch non existent

Very Week Wireless signal. doesnot work more than four meters away.
This modem has very poor design when it comes to antenna. The antenna will not screw on securely to the socket resulting in poor signal strength in the same room. After a couple of tries the nut holding the socket to the body has come loose and I can't take the antenna off as the sleeve holding it to the socket just rotates freely on the acrew. will never recommend this product to anyone

    • Good: None for wireless nor VOIP
Works OK with LAN ethernet connections
    • Bad: Wirless doesnot work
      No tech support
Use what you can do not expect any support

Have had this device for 2 1/2 years. It's the second time it's power supply died. It melted, almost causing an accident. Unreliable, poor design, incompatible with lots of VOIP providers

    • Good: All-in-one device (I thought it was good to save space)
    • Bad: Lack of good support; poor design; VOIP always drops; Firewall does not work; Power supply melts with risks of causing a fire. And, because it's all-in one, it dies you lose everything.

Definetly, do not recommend. I will not be buying Netcomm products again.

Router has been working fine for about a year then started dropping in and out when NOTHING had changed??!! I read that these units are prone to overheating and have now tilted mine 45 degrees as per chat room suggeston and it has suddenly corrected the NB9W drop out problem!!! :D Tilting router has saved me buying a new one, so am VERY happy! Will make sure I remember to unplug it in evenings too.

    • Good: *Easy to use
    • Bad: *prone to overheating causing drop outs - tilt at 45 degree angle to correct this
*no power switch on the actual unit

good all rounder. i have had it for 7 months and has been reliable, except recently it requires daily rebooting. the unit appears to be running hot when it needs rebooting.

    • Good: reasonable good speeds.
      stable unit
      all in one.
    • Bad: on hot days requires rebooting.
user manual ok, but confusing for layman (will need to rely on your isp to configure this unit). check with your isp before buying.

Reasonably sound unit. About the 4th unit I've used. Had it over 12 months now. I've had no probs with reception as some have reported - however I use a 7db antenna that I purchased.

    • Good: -Allowed me to get rid of a bunch of "boxes" and cables due to all in one.
-Got it up and running reasonably quickly.
      - Can use VOIP with Telstra (the box they supplied blocks it - they won't admit it [or the people on the phone don't know what you are talking about when you mention VoIP!]).
    • Bad: Had some problems with calls dropping out after I moved. Not sure if the problem was Telstra or the box.
Power Supply box has fallen to bits - need to reglue it (i.e. It's popped open).

Great machine! I like this router very much. Net Comm NB9W is the name of quality. My friends tell me that their are wireless speakers. So i check this experiment to run it wirelessly but it was not work but when i was do it for my xbox 360 wireless controller its really worked. I don't believe it that how i do this. Its very difficult procedure and its work on wireless internet service area only.

    • Good: Cheap and reliable.
      Stable uptime.
      Solid 3G coverage.
    • Bad: Nothing.
