I'm not surprised. Behind closed doors, Telstra has always been working to put the squeeze on any competitors especially the smaller ones. This is because of Telstra's sheer size. They are able to 'lean' on smaller Telcos who have little power to resist.
Since Telstra owns the infrastructure, while at the same time publically complying with any constraints and regulations the Government may require.
The same applies to their own people. They lean on employees whom they no longer want. I should know - I had 18years in Telstra but recently 'had' to take a redundancy package.

It is a deliberate ploy by Telstra to squeeze out any competition in Tasmania. Hope the damn government does something about Telstra monopoly.

Not bad really - I currently use Netspace in Tas and get download speeds as low as 12K on a 512K plan. Looks like time for a change
