Nokia 6110 Navigator

A good 3G slide phone with an excellent screen and sound quality. It feels a little cheap in places, though, and its GPS navigation is highly compromised.

    This is to all the people that are asking about the assisted GPS (AGPS) the cost depends on your network so your best bet is to give your provider a ring and ask, i know that SOUL (optus) is free

    • Good: GPS
      Fast CPU
      Comes with a 512mb card
      Stylish
      Decent camera to take quick pics
      LOUD Volume
      It can read out messages, which is sometimes funny, hehehe
    • Bad: cant train the text to speech (or i haven't found how to do it yet)
      Back case is a little squeeky (but what phone isnt?)
      It cant cook me dinner!!

    Great phone, I've had it for a week now (in white) and it has helped a few times already, saving us the trouble of taking out the Melways to find our way back. My old phone was the Nokia N70, the 6110 is Sooooo much faster and has almost no lag at all (except while viewing photo's for the 1st time which is like 2 seconds but thats nothing!!) Great phone, will be keeping it for a long time!

    • Good: GPS works great
      Great looking
      The GUI is very easy to use.
      Sound quality is awesome
      LCD screen is very clear and bright.
    • Bad: Many bugs needs to be ironed out.
      The way you acess to the battery is stupid.
      Camera is not that good.
      the 1-2-3 button is harder to press than the rest of the keypad.

    could have been so great, instead the phone i got is full of bugs.
    Voice command doesnt work, and when the voice command button is pressed the phone crashes.
    Also after adding contacts with PC suite the phone would crash and reboot when certain numbers in my contacts was calling me, no ringtone, the screen just lights up then goes black.
    Only way to get it working so i can recieve calls from those people again is to delete them from my contacts.
    My phone came with the Nordics map installed, in the phone menu i can see a newer version of the map is available and i have the license for it, but it isnt possible to download the map with the Route 66 Software, i have to download it using the phone..... 350 Mb at a price of almost 3$ pr MB...
    I hope a firmware will get released that fixes these issues, then the phone would deserve a solid 10, but now 7 is all i can give it due to all the frustrations it caused me!

    • Good: -GPS navigation
      -3G and HSPDA
      -Camera lens cover at the back of the phone.
      -Sliding
      -Keypads (for me, the keypad makes me easy to typed things faster.)
      -Sharp, bright screen
      -Multimedia
      -Nice, loud sound quality
      -Has speaker at the back
      -3D ringtones
      -Organisers
      -Glossy, smooth black plastic body is pleasing to hold.
      -Light sensor control at the top left of the phone (just above the 3G camera)
      automatically controls the brightness in indoors and even outdoors.
    • Bad: -Memory card, only 2gb
      -Camera takes poor quality at night time.
      -Only 2 megapixel. it would be much better if nokia made it 3.0 megapixel instead.
      -USB and memory card doors.
      -Back cover is tricky to remove to access the battery and sim card.

      thats about it so far......

    i've been using this phone for about a week. its really a great phone to have, especially the gps navigation.
    eveything in this phone is fast, easy to use and no lags. I also like the design, although its not a fashion, slim and stylish phone but its good to own one and showing off to your mates...etc XD.

    highly recommend it to everyone who likes this phone.

    The best phone , only n95 is better , it has the best sound , is the fastest and the batery is pretty good

    i use nokia navigator 6110.whe i want to cheak camera info at gps and weather its not working.i am in south africa

    its the best new phone ever.. i had the N70 which sucks.. but this is really great. great voice. very good cam. and most of all excellent gps.
