Nokia 6120 Classic
By Jeremy Roche on 31 August 2007
Nokia's 6120 is a good all-rounder with fast Internet access at a very attractive price -- the camera isn't great, though.

- Good: HSDPA, Bluetooth 2.0, easy to find cable for mini USB port, microSD card removable without turning phone off, 16 million color screen
- Bad: No GPS, camera does suck, batt indicator doesn't work
I've used this phone for almost 2 years and had no problems with it. I got it because it was really good value for money when it just came out - few other phones with HSDPA and Bluetooth 2.0 were free on the $29 cap. It's probably a bit dated now and you might as well get a 6220 instead.
1 thing I don't like is the battery indicator doesn't really work, it shows full for most of the time. Once it drops by 1 bar, it reaches 0 within a few hours. The battery also doesn't last very long. -

- Good: It's alot better phone than my 6085 which only lasted me about a year and a half
- Bad: battery life is not too good
I just got this phone the other day and was wondering if the battery is only meant to last a day or what is up with it? My old 6085 battery would stay charged longer than this one. Could someone tell me if there having the same problem it would be greatly appreciated!.. Thanks, Renee

- Good: stylish. good music player. nice video playback. overall compared to N85 this phone is not so great
- Bad: mostly the problem is batterylife when playing music drops easily and dents so easily
go for N85 . its way better

- Good: size
- Bad: 3 handset in 12 months, 1 locked up completely, new handset supplied; 2nd screeen died but phone worked for about a week before stopping altogether. Both overheated, particularly on bluetooth!,
Small stylish phone. Just really unreliable. battery life is poor, would regularly kill it during a working day, but I do use the phone A LOT. Old 5120 lasted about 5 yrs, so was disappointed in the issues with this phone.

- Good: Fast internet, spped, packed with great features, well presented display and handset
- Bad: Poor camera, does heat-up during calls, can stop working (refer below), only average battery life.
For anyone requiring a phone packed with features then phone would be a great choice. The speed when using the internet is more than acceptable and the phone responds well when browsing menus and has the usual Nokia layout of screens with clear and bright resolution.
I have had two of these phones however and both have stopped working. When receiving calls they didn't ring and the caller couldn't hear me. It seems a common fault with this model. I read that if you turn the backlighting settings down to the minimum then this helps overcome this problem. I tried this and one of the phones works okay now but this is still annoying. I also think the camera is very poor in quality compared to the 2 megapixel on the Nokia N70 and Sony W810i. The phone definately heats up after longer calls and this becomes uncomfortable and concerning. I didn't get that with my N70 and to be honest this puts me off using this phone. Overall, this is the first Nokia phone I have ever considered replacing with another phone due to the problems I have experienced. -

- Good: good at everything except making long calls
- Bad: overheating after 5 minutes talk time
3 weeks after I got a 6120 from FoneZone, I made my first 5 minute call. Burned my ear. They exchanged the handset, because it was inside 30 days. The second handset did the same thing, but because it was more than 30 days after I first bought it, they wouldn't exchange it.
"Nokia 6120s do that" was the response. "You mean you sold me a phone that you KNEW couldn't make calls of more than 5 minutes?" "Here, have an at-cost $8 plastic case, that will keep the phone further away from your ear."
Not happy. Not going back to FoneZone. Ever. -
