Nokia 6233

By Andy White on 21 July 2006

The 6233 is a reasonably priced 3G handset that despite the absence of video calls performs excellently in the vast array of features it does possess. Ultimately, the 6233 is a smallish classically-designed handset that is easy-to-use, and which builds upon the success of previous models like the 6230i, but packs a little more punch.

    • Good: Where to begin? Radio, Mp3(4) player, organiser, camera, video Big colour screen, Voice recording. Computer compatable. voice activated functions
    • Bad: Not qiute enough memory for music.

    All i wanted and more

This was my first upgrade from the old styled nokia 3320. I wanted a phone that could take camera shots (as most do know), but with all the other stuff that i got with it, was awesome. The standard handsfree that came with the phone, has been one of the best plug in hands free i have found.

    • Good: no sms-memory limit, software, organizer, handling, just nokia;)
    • Bad: no autofocus, small internal memory

    Everything i need

The 6233 is the perfect successor of my former 6230i. I've always had a full sms-memory, but this problem is now fixed. Just as many other small points which are perfectly solved.
In the end, there are only two things i have to find fault with which are the very small internal memory with only 6MB and the missing auto-focus.

    • Good: This is my first Nokia hand set as I was using other brands. But seeing this I had to check out now 4 the first time I feel that Nokia has Delivered a phone with art & class. The display is fantastic and the options and sound quality is astonishing. A must try Once Handset by Nokia
    • Bad: The hand set has no complains as yet. The battery is worthless and it does not meet the expectations when u buy such a sleek set. The only thing I feel is that Nokia should learn the art of SAtisfying Customers, as the box did not contain any information about the product and its accessories included so I was not sure what I had got with the Hand set.

    Now Nokia has delivered

    • Good: easy navigation, mini sd card with converter is very handy, love the fact that i can put whatever music i feel like as my ringtone straight from my pc. no sliding, flipping parts so looks pretty hard to wear out.
    • Bad: none yet, everything i need it has. time will tell i guess.

    so far so good

so far i like it, i'll be impressed if it still works this well at the end of my contract as my last phone (not a nokia) didn't last the distance. takes excellent photographs and the video is handy although note to self, it's not like my camera and it will pick up anything i say when i'm recording. hehehe

    • Good: Only went on contract with Telstra to get it.
      I get 3 - 4 days battery life as I turn it off 8.00pm - 8.00am.
Numbers are so easy to press and navigation id a dream.
Pictures are excellent. I found you have to be very still to take a video clip.
    • Bad: When SMS ing the letters are hard to see when in its protective case as the light reflects off the clear plastic.

I'm very happy with this Nokia!!!

I have just purchased this phone because of it's ease of use and great picture taking qualities as it is 2 megapixel not just vga. Perfect prints up to size A4.
I received a bluetooth headset bonus with mine which I'll never use. The data cable would have been my choice so I could transfer my pics to PC. The 3G isn't available in Tasmania yet even though I'm not planning on using it. Many features I won't use like video calls, web browsing, etc.
I love this phone, it's great.
