The Nokia N85 is another solid N-series phone, but if you're looking for something different this won't be your bag.

I am a big fan of NOKIA models. Never had a second thoughts when buying nokia. Expensive? - O yes.
Although, I've started with 8210 (2000), than moved forward to 6600 (2003) and recently got this fancy model of N85. Never had any other model, but those that I had, they were always the best and remained top models.
I am still new with N85, so I don't know where and how to find softwares and nice themes like I had for 6600.
Having this phone, is a privilage. Thank you NOKIA.- Good: FM transmitter = COOL, and the rest is great, just great!!!
- Bad: Can't see anything during the day, when out in the sun,. .... and, nothing else

Great Phone No problems apart from nokia's craptastic maps that require you to pay after your 30days of usage.
- Good: Love the phone. Quick responsive rarely lags even with full phone and micro sd memory. Good batt life, Quality sound from stereo speakers
- Bad: If there is one thing i would change would be the charging connector replaced it already 2 times because i am a rough man. Otherwise 9.9/10

Can't connect to my UNI wireless network which this phone as it requires the EAP-TTLS/PAP authentication module. N85 does not have this module. More so, most Universities use this EAP-TTLS method of authentication.

Very nice phone. Does everything you want it to more.
- Good: GPS is good (Even whilst not connected to the web)
Dual-Slider is useful for photos, movies etc
Camera is very nice
- Bad: Only negative is the slider is not as solid as I'd like it, but it's still very usable (Better than a majority of other sliders)
- Good: GPS is good (Even whilst not connected to the web)

You have done it once again Nokia another spectacular phone and its alot more slimmer than the chunkier N95
- Good: Blue tooth- I was worried that my songs on the n95 werent transferrable but the blue tooth feature made it quick and easy
Memory- 8 GB memory space makes it easier to load more songs and take heaps of pics without worrying about running out of room
Signal: My N95 was with vodafone and i was getting virtually no signal at home or work but ever since changing to optus and upgrading to the N85 i've got signal not matter where i go
Camera: Once again Nokia you pulled another rabbit out of the hat and retained the 5 megapixel camera it beats 1.3 or 3.2 megapixels any day
Size: The N85 is alot lighter and slimmer than my N95 i used to have
- Bad: No cons at all
- Good: Blue tooth- I was worried that my songs on the n95 werent transferrable but the blue tooth feature made it quick and easy

@GG; You can change the way the Keypad Locks and also what the Centre key does when pressed Up, Down, Left or Right.
Go Menu > Tools > Settings > General > Personlisation > Standby Mode > Shortcuts
and then you can change what all the Shortcut keys do. :-)
To change the way the Keypad Locks go to
Menu > Tools > Settings > General > Slide Handling
Then change Keyguard Activation as Desired.
As for what I think of the phone, amazing! Not a complaint. :-)- Good: Everything.
- Bad: About nothing, except for the delayed reaction times ocasionally, though I do have a lot of files on this phone.

Absolute junk! Have had two of these phones within a two week period and nothing but issues from the minute i opened the box.
N-gage doesnt work - 'system error'.
Freezes constantly - standby or whilst navigating.
Wont end calls, other party has to hang up.
Reboots on its own randomly.
PC software compatability issues - not responding.- Good: On paper has everything you could want in a phone, but sadly doesnt deliver.
- Bad: Countless faults.
