In a global launch on Monday evening in Dubai, the Finnish mobile giant unveiled three new additions to the L'Amour series under the theme "Elements of Inspiration".

Nokia is clearly in the mood to seduce consumers with a second iteration of its L'Amour collection. In a global launch that kicked off last evening in Dubai, the Finnish mobile giant unveiled three new additions to the L'Amour series under the theme "Elements of Inspiration". According to a press release issued on the company's Middle East/Africa Web site, the event showcased Nokia's first 3G fashion phone, the 7390, as well as the 7373, an upgraded version of the earlier 7370. A new Powder Pink 7360 was also displayed for the first time, together with a new-edition 8800.

The new phones are said to be inspired by the natural wonders and graphics of the Middle East and Africa, and "highlights Nokia's ongoing and growing commitment to the region", said Timo Toikkanen, senior vice president of Customer and Market Operation in Middle East and Africa, in the press release.

The 7390 will sport high-end features comprising a 3-megapixel camera complete with Carl Zeiss lens and integrated flash, a 16-million-color primary LCD display, music player and FM radio. The swivel 7373 is said to come with a 2-megapixel camera, 262K-color QVGA display and an FM tuner. Both handsets will feature microSD card expansion slots.

No dates were given for country launches outside of the Middle East and Africa. However, the latter two markets can expect the 7390 and 7373 in Q4 this year, with the new 7360 color variant due earlier in Q3.

Also slated for a Q3 rollout will be the premium 8800 Sirocco Edition. The second-generation slider-phone will, like its 8800 predecessor, come with exclusive designer ringtones, this time composed by renowned music composer and ambient music innovator Brian Eno.

Named after the Sirocco wind that blows off the Sahara Desert, the new Nokia retains the familiar sleek stainless steel design and sapphire-coated glass display. However, enhancements have been added such as a 2-megapixel camera, a 3D image engine for enhanced graphics, larger onboard memory, a microSD card expansion slot, and dark and light color options.
