By Liam Tung on 24 October 2008

LOL, These laptops can be turned into bricks REMOTELY, and you CANT take this security off. Its in the BIOS and to my knowledge its un-flashable. anyway i made a website that the DET didnt block so i decided to put a proxy on it and WOW i can acces anysite through mine.

i saw a yr 12 student on youtube on the school desktops... prooves its not unbreakable(then again he probs used a tafe acc).

the only thing that stops people instantly breaking the security is that there are no disk drives on the tiny lenovo idea pads (which i'll be getting next year)so there is no posiblitly of booting from disk. maybe off usb???

fail. seriously, why are they doing this? fthem.

sorry, I meant the first comment

in response to the previous comment, proxies are done and dusted, theyre about as blocked as any other darn thing. It's not up to tafe accounts, they offer the most flexibility.

It will be a complete failure, like most of DET's "initiatives". Look at what happened to the $82M-AUD "porn filter" - http://moldor.vox.com/library/post/news-on-the-australian-governments-porn-filter.html

well im in year 9 its getting harder to break into the school eg. access more things and its quite easy, other words the internet is hard to break like you need to have a teachers password to get into some sites
