By Joseph Hanlon on 22 October 2009
Optus is now offering its wireless broadband plans cheaper, but only for the first 12 months.

Virgin is MUCH worse under load than other Optus resellers. I suspect that they are cutting corners on the bandwidth purchased. Actually, Virgin gives Optus' network a terrible reputation, and Optus should cut them loose or make them upgrade!
I'll stick to the much cheaper, no-contract offers from Exetel, with the $15 cashback offer using SeeknBuy.com.au to connect. -

Optus can't cut them loose, as Virgin is a fully owned subsidury of Optus. However in saying that, Virgin don't allow Peer to Peer access, so someone who wants to download all day should look at another provider. But if your looking for a cheap and reasonable fast solution to do your general day to day browsing, then Virgin is for you. I've used Virgin for a while now and have no complaints. People just have to accept what product they have and use it to their own advantage rather than whinging about what they can't do

Today, a Wi-Fi device is installed in many personal computers, video game consoles, smartphones, printers, and other peripherals, and virtually all laptop or palm-sized computers.

Half the limit after 12 months, yeah but if you have enjoyed the service whats stopping you from going in and recontracting on it.

If the internet reception I get on my iPhone via Optus is anything to go by, I would not bother !
