This year has been a minor shake up for the laptop industry.
The Atom-powered netbook, for one, changed everything for a lot of users. The MacBook range got decent graphics rolled out from top to bottom. Gigabit Ethernet and wireless N became the de facto standard thanks to Centrino 2, and eSATA and DisplayPort have begun their rise to prevalence. Power saving above all came into the limelight, with LED screens becoming the in thing.
It seems the big laptops got bigger, the small smaller, and the light, well, have stayed pretty much the same, but have gotten more features.
There's still time left in the year — so if something comes along that makes the grade, the round-up will be updated. For now, this is CNET Australia's pick of the bunch.
