While its predecessor had prosumer aspirations, the Panasonic NV-GS500 is strictly for casual videographers who want top-notch video on autopilot.

    Its precursor, NVMX500A is brilliant. this may be good in other ways, but the lack of audio jack is appalling. There must be a way to design one to fit the AV Port

    • Good: clear picture..bright sound...small size... it gots almost everything!
    • Bad: No headphone connection....so sad...

    Loved it till it blew up had smoke coming out of it think the flash unit shorted out

    Fantastic product many great features and very good quality images and video

    • Good: Light and easy to use, great stills and fantastic video
    • Bad: small controls for big clumsy thumbs, smallish image viewing

    great quality images

    • Good: love the still images - great quality, easy to use
    • Bad: difficulties viewing the video images and cannot eliminate some undesirable features like image shading
