best slr I ever bought
being a decidedly raw user I'm delighted with the pictures I get thanks to pentax prime glasses mounted on D slr bodys.
C*N*N and N*k*n build wonders as well, that's true.
Coming to the ease of use, weight, obstrusiveness, Pentax wins. And his lenses are fabulous. Real keepers, at least for me. Come on Pentax!!!- Good: viewfinder, wonderful primes lenses FA & DA, unobstrusive, good raw converter, lightest slr
- Bad: not the quietest shutter

This camera has been the cheapest and best digital SLR I've ever used.

Great camera
Small and light yet feels solid and strong in the hand. Thee's an excellent range of options spread across an intuitive menu system.
Kit lenses aren't much good but that's the same across all brands these days.
Autofocus is quick, auto-exposure judgement is very sound. In the case where the camera is fooled, adjustment options are efficient and intuitive. -

No regrets
I love this camera. It's not just because of it's small size and light weight. Nor of the great shots it takes. What I love most is that works perfectly with all my old pentax mount lens. It even fits perfectly with my Pentax mid format 67II lens.

Favourite Digital SLR to date
I've been shooting photos for over forty years now. I've used all the major brands over time, and have bought more models than I'd like to think about. The *istD would have to be one of my favourite SLRs I've ever used. It's by far incredibly easy to use, and offers a huge amount of functionality. Can't recommend it enough, from the first timer to the pro.
