Kuro LX 50" or 60" or if your not in a hurry, the new Kuro generation Plasma will be released late 2008 or early 2009 ...! But there's more... If the gap is closing between both technologies, and KURO won with plasma, what will they (Pioneer) do with LCD...? Above cnet have given us a sneak peak at Pioneers test bench samples, well I won't say any more other than Pioneer if your not necessarily on a budget, however, if you are, be patient the LX will come down when the latest Plasma is relaesed, and then when the LCD is released perhaps even further, either way if we go on what we know today, The Pioneer Kuro LX is currently the best product on the market, and NO I don't for Pioneer, I read reviews and compare the findings and your only deliberation should be what size Plasma or LCD Pioneer to buy.?

supasquad, as a salesman if you think LCD and Plasma should be looked at the same way at a store, you are dead wrong, why? lighting. Plasmas look GREAT in darker surroundings, because of the superior contrast and its inability to produce antireflective pictures, thats why LCDs look slightly SHARPER and may appear to have more VIBRANT colours. So if i was the salesman i'd make sure i have informed my customers this as one of the main differences when looking at a T.V. Also Plasmas are better with Motion, so sports would be great. Saying the question Plasma and LCD is redundent is not informative and may lead the consumers to make the wrong decision.
So i recommend you do some research if you have time ( try CNET Reviews etc they do all the brands and models ) then you have the basic knowledge in whcih you can interpret the advices given from sales people, because some of them are paid COMMISION and will make dirt look like gold. -

We have recently bought a Hitachi HD plasma 106cm tv, together witha blue ray dvd player, and are more than happy with the picture and sound quality that the 2 have given. What I would like to know is can I safely play my Wii on it.....I only purchased it today, and am not sure if I should just attach it to our second telly, or can I put it with the plasma???

I just cant see how people still dont understand that the question LCD or Plasma is redundant. I work at a HiFi retailer and I get asked the question a million times a day, and yes I am sick of answering it, BUT not because I'm slack, but because its not a question that has a one word answer. First of all, Hifi salespeople generally have weekly budgets, ones that are often very hard to achieve, so the question "LCD or Plasma?" is just a great opportunity for a switched on salesperson to sell you stock that they have on hand. If there is 15 Panasonic 42" plasmas in the storeroom, then Plasmas are the best that week. PEOPLE, do yourselves a favour, understand that while most salespeople aren't con men, they are under great pressure to sell, and in the end, that is what they'll do 10 times of out 10. So the question shouldnt be LCD or Plasma, but rather, which one for me. The fastest and easiest way to figure this out is to ask yourself to simple questions, and answer yourself honestly. The first question should be (and this is of great importance) "what size TV do I NEED (not want)?", People always complain to me that they dont know what to buy, and there is too much choice, and they are SOOOO confused. Well then do yourself a favour and narrow the playing field, as there is no point considering tv's you cant have. The second question is one that people really dont often like answering (as if once I am told I will milk them for every $) BUT obviously you can only buy what you can afford, so, ask yourself, "what is my budget?". Honestly, once you have done this, your choice should immediately be easier. For instance, if you want a 32" TV, just by deciding this, you have pretty much taken Plasmas out of the picture (as most plasma start at 42", bar a few cheap n nasty brands). Or if you want a 50", then again, based on your budget your choice has again become easier. A 50" Plasma can range between $2000-$3500 whereas a 52" LCD goes for anywhere between $3000-$5500 (for the major brands). So if your budget for a 50" is $2500-$3000 then obviously Plasma will offer you more choice. Of course there are some technological differences, but in all honestly, ever new model that is released only further bridges the gap between the 2 technologies, and there is less and less difference between Plasma and LCD (to the average user). And in a final note, dont underestimate yourself and forget your most valuable asset in this process, your god given eyes. They will often tell you which TV is the one for you, and remember, if it looks good among a wall of TV's in a retail store, its going to look bloody amazing at home!

Personally, I have to say a Plasma is hands down the better product here. Why? Motion blurr, Judder, Slurring. When objects are moving close to the screen you know a considerable amount of lag on LCD T.Vs. I have been researching for months and even bought 2 LCDs ( FULLHD ) and tried watching my Blu Rays. And i felt like vommiting because of the headaches they gave me. I went to JB HIFI and looked at around 20 TVs Side by Side, and straight away i picked out every single Plasma TV on display due to their superior motion technology. For me thats the most important factor when deciding to buy a TV. I watch a lot of movies since i work at a video shop, i LOVE my sports, even Video games ( which i'd still recommend on Plasmas because the burn in problems have been fixed ) so i got the Panasonic TH-42PY800 series. dynamic contrast of 1,000,000 : 1 and native contrast of 30,000 : 1 pretty much blows any LCD out of the water.
