i have noticed it has the same cadriges as canon MP 460 (the praised smart printer at cnet, which is an archived printer on the producer's site: http://www.canon-europe.com/For_Home/Product_Finder/Multifunctionals/Inkjet/PIXMA_MP460/index.asp ). As a general view, Canon is starting to use more and more a 4 separate color cadrige type for high and middle end printers. Still a 2007/2008 product, MP220 is using the old style cadriges. This is a low-end all-in-one printer and what it does it is very good. For this price you get all the minimum requirements for a multifunctional printer and a good quality on the paper. Still, a Cnet review would be more than welcomed because I see this machine in a lot of homes lately.

Pros: good printer, good scaner. quick enough for home user. lowest price for such quality of printing.

Cons: old technology placed in a modern form = low-end. i even doubt the price is small enough when it comes to the functions it provides.

really good value

Pros: quick when warms up
excellent print quality
simple multifunctional printer
good price

Cons: all from plastic
i don't like the initial cartridge capacity (as well for all new printers) at 30% of full capacity
