I had no problems while using XP operating system. I had to buy a new computer which uses Vista Home edition and HP no longer works for scanning and photo management.
Pros: Worked well for home use with XP
Cons: Scanner does not work with Vista Home Edition Basic
Had it for a year. the pop up window goes out upon raising over 1/8 inch.
Hard to install. the disk stopped about 1/2 way thru. Amstill trying to get it to work. It keeps losing the connection to the computer. Cannot get either status or settings on HP Director, Even if the install completed successfully.Got a few paper out when not.
Pros: Had a HP 712 which broke the head driving band. It was very good at printing as far as color was concerned.
Worked for a few months, then it suddenly stopped working - later I find out if has something to do with it being unable to take my ink cartridges (a problem withe the PRINTER though, not the cartridges themselves). And no, I didn't break it.
Paid $67 (after rebate) about a year and a half ago. Does everything well. I probably should have bought two, in case this ever wears out. Never had a problem with an HP printer. Had bad luck with Lexmark!
I've had this PSC for about 4 months now and had multiple paper jam errors. Now I can't seem to get rid of the error even after the Tech supports suggestions of resetting the machine. They say to purchase a new one from them for twice the price I paid for this one and I won't have the problem anymore. Yea right! I'm going to believe that one. I say stay away and don't waste your money on this one. I'm throwing it away and looking for another mfg. product.
Pros: Worked great for the first 2 months then pooped out.
Paper tray no longer works. I have to manually push each and every piece of paper into the feeder. This is far too combersome even for a 10 page print out. Scan works fine. Import to email or iphoto is easy. But alas... print is not even printing anymore... I don't know if it's out of ink but if the machine is supposed to tell me when to refill I suppose that function no longer works either. After several HP complaints from friends (HP=Hellish Problems) I figured I'd give HP a test run myself. Conclusion - listen to your friend... I too will never purchase another product from them again.
Will not buy another HP printer...I don't need the hassle.
Pros: Prints fine when it prints.
Cons: Have to feed one paper at a time. Says out of paper when there IS paper. Says paper jam when there is NO paper jam. Tried to scan to computer, it says there is an error and will not do the scan. My advice is save your money and buy another brand of printer!!!
