Dell 926 Photo All-in-One User reviews

By Felisa Yang on 08/06/2007

More Dell reviews , RRP: AU$109.00

The good:

  • Built-in media card slots and USB port
  • E-fax capability
  • Produces a scannable photo index

The bad:

  • Disappointing print quality
  • Photo ink actually degrades photo quality
  • Dell's own photo paper doesn't produce the best quality prints
  • Sluggish task speeds

The bottomline:

The Dell Photo 926 is disappointing, even for a AU$100 multifunction printer. You can get a better printer for the same money.

I have just received a replacement printer, the first one did not even last a year. I will also agree with person who wrote that it uses ink faster than any other printer I have had and the ink is very expensive. Dell does not let you buy generic ink either they make you buy Dells brand. I will never buy another printer or computer from them again and I suggest others to shop around.

Cons: Cheap printer, expensive ink, terrible, terrible, customer service and the WORST EVER POSSIBLE Technical Support there is. You have to understand the Indian accent because they are too cheap to hire their own American people and then you are on the phone for 2-4 hrs until you are on the verge of total and complete exhaustion before they decide to send a tech to your home. RUN People RUN!

For its price range I feel it is a brilliant performer and my favourite thing about this MF (multifunction) is its attractive glossy white body and its compact size. For home use it is ideal! Well done Dell! I will be purchasing another for my other desktop, which is also a Dell! Way to go!

Pros: -Media card slots (xD...etc)
-Flatbed Scanner
-Photo Index Capable
-Small Footprint
-Stylish
-Built in USB 2.0 Port (very useful)
-E-fax and PC-FAX Capable
-Excellent Dell Support and Warranty
-Next Business Day repair and/or Replacement.
-Ink Management Software
-2 Line Text LCD Display and Menu
-High Quality Inks and Consumables
-Excellent Value at $159NZ

Cons: None to date! Excellent

I just purchased a Dell 926. It can only scan one page then freezes my laptop, and the printer cratridge only lasted 16 days. The previous Dell printer I had, the cartridges lasted 2 to 3 months!

Pros: Cheap!

Cons: Doesn't scan properly and uses ink too fast...but then again, you get what you pay for! Actually, I didn't even get that!!
