Canon Pixma MP520 User reviews

By Felisa Yang on 25/09/2007

More Canon reviews , RRP: AU$199.00

The good:

  • Great print quality
  • Decent print speeds
  • Two input sources
  • Memory card slots and PictBridge port
  • Manual control of photo edits

The bad:

  • PictBridge port doesn't support storage devices
  • Slowish scan speeds
  • Control panel doesn't offer an easy way to transfer images from memory card to PC

The bottomline:

The Canon Pixma MP520 doesn't offer all the bells and whistles found on other budget all-in-ones, but it's a solid device that does the basics right while delivering best-in-class quality.

Editors' rating:

7.5/10

Love it, does everything I'd want it to.
"Control panel doesn't offer an easy way to transfer images from memory card to PC"

Those 'easy ways' are more trouble than they're worth in my opinion. Prints at a good speed and looks great.

Pros: It's already way better on ink than my old Epson. Card reader is good, don't need to get a card reader for my computer now, duplex printing is good...

Cons: but you need to take the paper and put it in the rear tray.

How come did the MP520 get lower score on photo quality, when it was particularly said to be better on quality in the first sentences?
