OK, it's just an entry-level printer, so you shouldn't expect blazing speeds, but the iP4200 does fairly well with a manufacturer's rating of up to 17 pages per minute in colour, and up to 22 in black and white. And the price is certainly hard to beat.
Downside
If you're dazzled by the great display and connectivity features appearing on today's colour printers, this unit will probably leave you cold.
Bottom line
If you're looking for an affordable (before you get to replacing the consumables, that is) workhorse that will churn out the prints, this might just be your device.

The quality is no where near as good as my old MP370 or my Pixma MP130 both of which have been worked to death and died. Very disappointing.
Pros: None
Cons: Colours are wrong. Photos are not sharp and clear.

fast, cheap and basically good
I have a Pixma 4100 with which I am very happy, but it's on a ship on the way to me and I needed to print in a hurry. As this printer basically costs the same as a set of cartridges, it's effectively free, so I picked one up as a stop gap.
It's fast, compact and the print quality on good paper is excellent, and pretty much the same as my 4100. On plain paper the colours are pretty washed out but text is good and sharp. It's not nearly as quiet as the 4100 but who really cares about that?
In real terms the only real downside is that the colours are all in one cartridge, which always ends up being a little more expensive in the long run. For that resaon, the more expensive Epson might be worth a look, but this is a pretty noce piece of kit and I'm more than happy with it.
