PSP Go unboxing
By Derek Fung and Dan Chiappini on 21 September 2009
Sony's latest PSP turned up at the CNET Australia offices last week and we snapped a few pictures to find out what will be inside the box ahead of its 1 October Aussie launch.
Yep, that's a box
Despite the fact that the Nintendo's DS family has outsold the PSP range (worldwide around 110 million versus 51 million), Sony hasn't given up on trying for the top spot. Its latest effort is the PSP Go, a significant reworking of the current PSP's look and feel. There's a slide-up screen, significantly slimmed down dimensions and Sony's proprietary UMD format has been junked in favour of digitally distributed software.

I think its great! I own a psp 1000 which broke and a psp 2000 which is going strong (a yellow simpsons one. i love the simpsons but i had to buy it for that yellow colour, it doesn't smudge and doest scratch but its pretty tacky that its only a white one painted, you can tell around some edges and sony wouldnt take it back for poor build unfortunatly, but i still love it)
I wont buy it for the obvious fact that you cant transfer games. But ive played and touched one and it brings it back to the flawless build and classy design of the first generation. It feels sturdy just like the first, but it will look banged up after a week.
DEFINATLY CRAPS OVER THE TOY LIKE SLIM PS3.
Yet another toy i can neglect my children for too spend time cleaning :D (theyll do the same when they have kids. my iPhone is to my kids what my dads falcon was too me...) -

The PSP is a concept that could have been improved and built on. Unfortunately Sony continues to lose credibility by applying its talent to profiteering and not following and building on a great idea.

I will, only because i think it's finally time to purchase a PSP and i can get it cheaper than retail. I believe previous owners of the PSP are getting screwed over with no UMD transfer
