Only around 7 to 10 per cent of the population is left-handed, yet Razer says that it has created the Razer DeathAdder Left Hand Edition in response to a "high volume" of requests from left-handed gamers. The good news is that they will no longer have to make do with right-handed and ambidextrous mice, as its form is designed specifically for southpaw comfort, with five programmable "Hyperesponse" buttons placed for convenient left-hand operation.

It also boasts all the features of the regular Razer DeathAdder, including the company's trademark 1000Hz "Ultrapolling" technology to give twitch gamers much-needed speed, and a 3500dpi Razer Precision 3.5G infrared sensor for over four times the accuracy of a standard 800dpi mouse.

The Razer DeathAdder Left Hand Edition is available online for US$59 from 24 March. Local pricing has yet to be announced.

Yes! For me this is great news, I've been waiting for a serious left handed device from Razer for a long time. Now I just have to hope sales are impressive enough to encourage a left handed trackball.
