Ricoh GR Digital II

By Philip Ryan on 08 April 2008

The GR Digital II is a cute compact camera that might appeal to street photographers looking to step away from a rangefinder and into digital, but doesn't deliver the features, performance, or image quality it should given its steep price tag.

    • Good: Compact (into my pocket)
      Simple control interface, especially shutter/aperture
Solid body (you feel like holding SLR)
      Pretty wide aperture at F/2.4
Crisp Picture quality (fixed lense quality)
      Nice Skew Correct mode.
I like the 1:1 square picture
      Long life battery
    • Bad: Bad noise on iso above 200 :(
(basically you can enjoying photo on day time only)
      Slow start on power.

This is my first pocket camera, where I'm pretty satisfied actually.
Simple interface, very comfort to control the aperture/shutter speed.
My other choice was Panasonic Lumix LX3 actually.
