Rotel RSX-1550
By Ty Pendlebury on 01 April 2009
The Rotel RSX-1550 receiver features an up-to-date specification, and though a little simplistic compared to rivals, it's a great movie machine.

- Good: sound, asthetic
- Bad: video quality, remote, gui menu
Unlike the reviewer I enjoy the sound of my Rotel 1550. Two channel sound quality on my B&W 683s was the sole reason I purchsed this receiver in the first place. But I should have done more testing. I am not impressed with the video processing. Obviously there are many pieces that make up a home theater system, but I got much better picture quality with less sparkles and clips using component cables direct to my Samsung DLP compared to HDMI cables through my new Rotel receiver. The remote and GUI menu are also horrendous.
