Rumoured Sony Ericsson Android device surfaces

By John Chan on 07 July 2009

Danish magazine Mobil got its hands on what it says is an internal Sony Ericsson document detailing the company's first Android smartphone. Code-named "Rachael", this device is supposedly based on Qualcomm's 1GHz Snapdragon processor, has an 8-megapixel camera and comes with a 3.5mm audio jack.

There are few other details, but it will be part of the Xperia series. The only device using that brand name currently is the Windows Mobile-based X1. Sony Ericsson has a lot of catching up to do in the smartphone space, so let's hope this rumour turns out to be true and that it won't take too long to reach the market.
