Samsung A701
By David Flynn on 18 December 2006
While a decent phone in its own right, what makes the A701 stand out is what the Next G service brings to the mix, such as streaming video content and a high-speed connection to the Internet.

there wasn't much choice of phones initially on next g so i got this one, i prefer sony ericssons. the quality isn't much good considering the price. camera doesn't take pictures that good. the motorola razr which my bf got is better. video is only 15 secs too. vibration is too soft. hard to open. don't like the combined battery & headset hole, means you can't talk with headset while charging, also mine broke 2 weeks after warranty ran out. spose i just don't like this phone much, doesn't have anything standout to make you go WOW. i'm gonna buy a sony ericsson
- Good: battery life is ok
alarm is good
loudspeaker is good
user friendly big nos and screen is biggish
- Bad: vibration is too soft. hard to flip open with one hand. sms doesn't learn words, which is a real pain. hard to sms new spelling of words. doesn't store enough messages.
- Good: battery life is ok

Worst phone I have ever had
Intermittent signal, have to remove the battery, clean the sim card daily, otherwise people cannot hear me when I call them.
- Good: Big letters easy to use,
Nice looking phone, but other than that it is has nothing to offe - Bad: fragile, unreliable, takes terrible photos
Cannot change the message ring tone.
Samsung will confirm this if you ring their IT department.
Have to turn the phone off evey few days or it drops off the next G platform, so they tell me at telstra
- Good: Big letters easy to use,

great phone. awsum screen. annoying key pad tones. pretty much good all round phone. afew annoying features.
- Good: awsum touch keypads on the outside of the phone, camera, nice big button for my big thumbs, fast bluetooth,
- Bad: when playing mp3 on loudspeaker could be louder. the slow loading on the memory card. and how the phone somtimes restarts when loading playlist, how you cant set a mp3 as your alarm.
