Samsung A701
By David Flynn on 18 December 2006
While a decent phone in its own right, what makes the A701 stand out is what the Next G service brings to the mix, such as streaming video content and a high-speed connection to the Internet.

Great phone with not many problems...
- Good: great speed and awsom lcd screen.
- Bad: The cover lcd turns off after 3 secs or 10secs when volume is held down. This doesnt allow any time for you to read it and your missed calls dissapears when the cover lcd turns of.
- Good: great speed and awsom lcd screen.

Phone has fault where it goes mute (no key sounds or ringer) after a couple of days, and I need to turn it off to fix it.
- Good: Good look, good features.
- Bad: Menu is a bit clunky, especially getting in to settings and games.

pretty good phone
- Good: Everything is brilliant apart from the media player
- Bad: everything music wise about this phone absolutely sucks the shuffle in it is exactly the same and you have to make a playlist to get full functionality from the media player and the earphone are 20x too big for me and always fall out!!

Great - but:
Bluetooth and USB transfer speeds seem very slow compared to previous samsung
Samsung PC Studio does not support contact manager and message manager on this phone.
The calender is pointless as far as synch with outlook is concerned
Media player buttons on the cover seem to have a random behaviour- Good: Fast startup on Next-G
Fast interface generally - Bad: Stumbles in the Outlook Synch department
- Good: Fast startup on Next-G

This phone keeps on impressing me.
Hey everyone that's complaining about the proprietry headphone adaptor, get a 3.5mm converter off ebay, works a treat, awesome sound quality. The supplied earphones are RUBBISH.- Good: Awesome mp3 player.
- Bad: Exterior buttons lock themselves too quickly

Although a great handset, the lack of RAM limits its potential as a multitasking device.
- Good: Excellent display
- Bad: Limited multitasking because of small RAM base

The best! This truly shows Samsung's potential to make the best phones!
- Good: Great looks, thin profile, touch-screen MP3 buttons on front facia and it's a Samsung!
- Bad: only comes in black (but still looks sexy)
