I have a DVD recorder about 3years old given to me and it works perfectly but when I go to record or play the picture is snowy, but on channel 1 (abc) and SBs it is great. How do I fine tune the other channels?

I've had my Samsung DVD Recorder (direct to disc, no hard drive) for just under five years now. It has just now given up the ghost. I think 5 years constant recording for $170 (Ebay Recon unit) is a pretty good buy. So don't bag the company (Samsung) you may have just got a dud model. My Samsung has been FANTASTIC... and I record from Foxtel very VERY frequently.

DMR-EX77, DVD recoder, laser failed 1 month out of warranty, purchase price $450.00,repair cost $529.93,agent tells me all companies are as bad as each other and I should have got extended warranty. $60.00 dollar Soniq QMR301B now employed to burn discs, can't see any point in assuming price and name means quality.

Panasonic DVD recorders all say you cant record from Foxtel. But you can if you connect s-video and then analogue audio (red and white). You may need to change settings in Foxtel setup.

I have had an LG DVD/Hard disk recorder for a year. Lately the signal from the unit to my LCD TV has been jumping, losing sound and image quality making it unwatchable. At firdt I thought the hard disk was faulty but then I noticed that if I watched a program through the recorder the same thing happened. What is going on?

This is a webpage 'How To Buy',not a chatboard. PEOPLE WITH ALMOST NO KNOWLEDGE OF DIGITAL BROADCASTING, OR PROBLEMS WITH SPECIFIC EQUIPMENT YOUR COMPLEX QUERIES WILL NEVER BE ANSWERED HERE. Google it, study it, ask your equipment vendor's Support department for help. Do not expect an immediate cure. If still stuck after many hours of the above, FFS FIND A RELEVANT CHATBOARD WITH A SEARCH ENGINE, AND LOOK FOR THE SECTION ON DVD RECORDERS, then post a cogent query and wait a coupla days for an answer, following up as needed.
