Seven unveils 7Two digital channel
By Ty Pendlebury on 23 October 2009
Seven has announced the details of its new digital channel called 7Two which begins broadcasting next month and will feature a mix of new run series and "old favourites".
7Two will begin broadcasting on 1 November 2009 on digital channel 72 (Seven Two, geddit?) and will be the first place to see the new series of Ugly Betty, Heroes, Lost and 24.
The rest of the channel's programming will include the "very best of British television", themed nights including Action & Adventure, Lifestyle and Movies, and cooking programs from the likes of Jamie Oliver.
While Nine is rumoured to be courting Top Gear, 7Two will broadcast the "other" UK motoring show Fifth Gear.
Seven has been running a teaser all week on channel 72 with echoes of Gough Whitlam: "It's Time".

Newie, Prime (the local 7 affiliate) has yet to announce when it will commence transmission of 7TWO. Southern Cross (the 7 affiliate in Darwin and Tasmania) will begin showing 7TWO in those regions from December 1.

We are supposed to be able to receive 7TWO through a set top box - rubbish! Can't get anything! Any suggestions?

I wasted over an hour trying to get it too. I might just not bother when it is available to stick it to 7. No one watching means no advertising $$. Maybe they will make sure their publicity is better handled next time!

I live on the Mid north coast NSW. What I can't understand is that there is no mention on the 7two website of it only being available to limited areas - it reads as if it is available to 'all free to air viewers'. So I spent an hour trying to tune into it. Why not just tell us 'it will be rolled out over time to areas other than Sydney etc.... '
