About The Author

CNET Editor

Derek loves nothing more than punching a remote location into a GPS, queuing up some music and heading out on a long drive, so it's a good thing he's in charge of CNET Australia's Car Tech channel.

In brief

If you absolutely must have the largest name-brand TV in your living room, then Sharp is happy to satisfy your needs with this 70-inch behemoth.

The LC70LE735X features a full array, as opposed to edge-lit, LED backlighting and LCD display technology. Instead of the usual three colours per pixel array used in most TVs, the LC70LE735X has four, with yellow joining our good friends red, blue and green.

In terms of connectivity, the LC70LE735X is equipped with an HDTV tuner, four HDMI and three USB ports, a VGA input, an Ethernet connector and a set component input, as well as optical and analog audio out. A wireless network adapter is an optional extra.

As you'd expect from a top-of-the-range TV, the LC70LE735X is able to play music, videos and photos from a USB stick. A built-in web browser and YouTube client can also be used to keep guests entertained with LOL cats and Superbowl ads.

Outlook

If you're keen, a Sharp dealer can swap you one for a cool AU$4799.
