Have you been wondering what LG is planning to launch at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in a fortnight? After the successful launch of the Optimus 3D at last year's event, we're guessing that the Optimus 3D 2 is a sure bet.

GSMArena has spotted images and specs of the upcoming LG flagship handset, and is reporting that the handset will be both slimmer and lighter than its predecessor, and with a higher-resolution 3D display to boot.

LG continues to position itself on the bleeding edge of smartphone tech, so we wouldn't be surprised to see a quad-core processor powering this handset.

The real problem with the Optimus 3D last year was the lack of 3D content. We were quite impressed with the 3D when we watched 3D clips on YouTube, but for the 3D 2 (such an awkward name, by the way) to make a real impact, LG will need to deliver the 3D content along with the handset.
