Drawing upon the vast engineering resources within Google, Picasa has transformed itself into a very intuitive application. For example, you see each edit you make to a photo in real time instead of waiting for the preview image to render. Want to send a photo to your blogger.com site? Direct integration makes it possible to take a photo and post it on your site within minutes. Want to find all images with cats on your hard drive? Picasa's search quickly pulls those images together, using a variety of methods, including hunting for EXIF data contained with the digital image itself. The new edition of Picasa also burns albums to your computer's DVD or CD burner -- something missing in earlier versions. For hard copies, Picasa links out to several well-known services, such as Ofoto and Shutterfly, meaning you don't have to open yet another print service account to make hard copies of photos edited in Picasa.
No mystery here; what you see is what you get with Picasa's editing tools.
Picasa 2.0 is available only for Windows and only in English. Other languages may be available later. There's also a slight performance drag on older computers running Picasa 2.0.
Given that Picasa 2.0 is free and easily downloadable from Google, the outlook looks fantastic for this very easy-to-use photo album program. You'd be mad not to give Picasa 2.0 a try.

I'v used picassa in the past and previously i would have given the program 10 out of 10. i've just downloaded picassa 2 and i am unable to email my photos from the program. Is anyone else having this problem?!!!!
Pros: easy upload.
Have used sit in the past and it has been excellent
Cons: Just uploaded photos and cannot email. Tells me to create profile in the Control panel. Unable to do this and Help isn't working in program

After battlng with nero, I think Picasa is absolutely tops for me. I am not "into" computers and this programme does evrything I want from getting photos off emails, organising my folders, allowing edit and comments. I LOVE IT.
Pros: Everything, especially photos from discs and emails. It sooooo easy
Cons: nada, zip, nothing so far

I live in korea, and wen i dwnld the PICASA it always goes into korean language mode, i tried to change the language option setting after downldng,,,,, but doesnt work,,, I am deleting this OFF my PC..... hate this..!

Changing the Language
It's easy to change the language, go to Tools->Options
OR
If you don't know where that is press ALT + T, then press O. This opens the Options form.
On the first tab of the Options form, there are two drop down lists, the one above is for languages. Click on it and choose your language.

Yes-except to English users in Non-English countries
I downloaded Picasa2 several times, and it always defaults to the Japanese version on installation!! I can not find any way to get around this!
I live in Japan, but my PC is totally set up for English, including all applications (I don't read/write Japanese). Its BIOS is English on an original Intel board (from Taiwan), with (English versions)of WinXP Pro and MS OfficeXP Pro 2002. I have the Japanese 'multi-language kit' installed (from MS Windows) but rarely use it.
Google Picasa2 download page says "Picasa2 will detect your version of Windows and install itself in that language" Not true - it seems to key on language set of the the country you are in, not the user's installed OS (probably downloads from a local server portal in only the native language of its location).
