Description:

Macromedia Contribute 3.0 manages Web sites, especially those made by pros within a workgroup.

Buying choices:

Contribute is Macromedia's content-management tool. It strives to make life easier for professional Web designers who use the other components of Macromedia Studio 8.0, namely Dreamweaver.

Contribute 3.0 lets companies maintain, administer and update Web sites, especially dynamic ones that require special care and feeding. One gripe heard from users of Macromedia Contribute 2.0 was its inability to integrate content from the Microsoft Office suite, which Contribute 3.0 intends to fix by letting you drag and drop content from Word or Excel straight into a Web page.

You also get new tools for collaborating within a workgroup, such as roles with security permissions. We'll evaluate Contribute 3.0 after Macromedia releases the Studio 8.0 final code.
