Google tracks searches?

I was a very early user of Google and loved the search engine from the start. Now, however, I do simple searches that return useless information. Today, I noted that information returned by one search seemed to relate more to an earlier search I had done.
Is Google tracking my searching and making judgments about the advertisements that might be most effective? If I delete the Google taskbar and its "advanced features," will I get more productive searches?

I would recommend uninstalling your current toolbar and reinstalling it. When reinstalling, pay close attention to the end-user license agreement. By not accepting the advanced features offered by Google, you can avoid having your searches tracked.
